- Travel back in time
Cyprus has some of the finest archaeological sites one could ask for. To the east of Limassol lies the ancient kingdom of Amathus, while to the west lies Ancient Kourion with its breath-taking Greco-Roman amphitheatre perched on a cliff-top. Or for something more recent, explore Limassol’s medieval Byzantine castle where Richard the Lionheart is said to have got married.
- Sample the local flavours
Standing at the crossroads of three continents, Cyprus has a rich and diverse culinary heritage. Limassol Marina offers a variety of dining options. Some of the finest food you’ll eat here, however, is the traditional Cypriot cuisine. And there’s no better place to enjoy its fresh flavours than in the tavernas of Limassol.
- Experience the nightlife
Known as ‘the town that never sleeps’ Limassol’s nightlife attracts visitors from around the world. From buzzing cafés and fashionable cocktail bars, to live music venues and hip beach bars plus clubs featuring world-renowned DJs. In Limassol, you’ll never be at a loss for things to do.
- Shopping therapy
Limassol Marina offers a superb range of high-end shops and designer boutiques featuring brands such as Ralph Lauren, Paul Smith, Nicole Farhi, Paul Shark and Diesel. Or, just a stone’s throw from the marina, in Limassol town, you’ll find yet more chic designer shops on Makarios Avenue. Anexartisias Street is the place to go for anything from clothes and jewellery to local souvenirs.
- Take to the waves
Located on the south coast of Cyprus, Limassol enjoys one of the mildest Mediterranean winters, making it the ideal year-round yachting destination. It’s also one of the finest cruising locations in the Mediterranean.
Limassol is also the perfect jumping off point for the cruising destinations of Greece and the Greek Islands, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt and Turkey as well as the Suez Gateway to the Red Sea.
- Take to the fairways
You’ve a good choice of golf courses on the island, each with their own distinct style. The idyllically situated Elea, just 2km from Paphos, is part of a luxury development and was designed by Sir Nick Faldo. If you like plenty of bunkers then this is the course for you. Also close to Paphos is the 18-hole Aphrodite Hills course.
Dare to go beyond this summer…
…And experience everything that Limassol has to offer – from the traditional to the contemporary, and the ultrasimple to the uber luxurious. As a place to live and a place to sail, Limassol will take some beating.
